EQUIPMENT INSURANCE FOR TODAYS WORLD

Equipment Insurance Summary

Most insurers will only insure electronic equipment when it is secured at your home or office and place severe restrictions and limitations on cover outside these situations. Travel insurance will offer limited cover when you are overseas, but most of these insurances are totally inadequate.

Dihusky Financial Services offer Equipment Insurance Policies designed to comprehensively cover a wide range of electronic equipment, both in Australia and when you travel overseas.

A brief summary of this Insurance Policy:

AGREEMENT TO INSURE
In return for payment of the premium as quoted by the online Premium Calculators and in the Tax Invoice, the Insurer will cover you for theft of, or accidental damage to the electronic equipment detailed on the application form and the resultant policy, during the period of insurance.

ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE
The Insurer will compensate you for accidental damage to the electronic equipment occurring by physical means. This means physical damage as result of a sudden, unforeseen and unexpected event. The event must arise from a single identifiable incident.

Accidental Damage will not be covered if the electronic equipment is used in situations outside the manufacturers recommendations or in conditions that would void manufacturers warranty.

CLAIMS
In the event of a claim, you are required to inform Protecsure within 14 days of the event. This period may be extended if Protecsure is satisfied that notice was given at the earliest possible opportunity.

In the event of a theft or malicious damage whether in Australia or Overseas, the event must be reported to the Police and a report or incident number must be obtained and submitted with the claim.

ELECTRONIC DATA
Electronic data and software is not covered by this insurance policy. It is the obligation of the insured to ensure all data is backed up and stored in a secure location.

GEOGRAPHICAL AREA
The insured electronic equipment is covered for theft or accidental damage within Australia and its Territories and for all other areas of the world during a return journey of no longer than 28 days. This period may be extended beyond 28 days by payment of an additional premium. Please contact either Dihusky Financial Services for details.

OWNERSHIP
In the event of any claim, the insured must be able to prove ownership of the equipment.

POLICY EXCESS
The insured may select the excess they wish to apply to their policy. The policy excess offered are $100, $250, $500 or $1000 The higher the excess, the lower the premium.

REPAIR
In the event of a claim, all damaged electronic equipment must be kept and made on request. All repairs will be undertaken by approved repairers. Should the insured have a preferred repairer for specialised or unique equipment, a quote must be provided and submitted with the claim and approval obtained before any repair work is undertaken.

THE EQUIPMENT
The equipment as defined in the policy is electronic equipment. For a itemised list of both mobile and static equipment that may be insured, please refer to Quoting Guidelines
